The validity period of a SAFc is how long it is eligible for retirement and can be used for climate disclosures. SAFcA are valid for 24 months after issuance and SAFcE are valid for 24 months after its unbundling from the associated SAFcA.

At the end of its validity period, a SAFc "expires" and can no longer be used.
